Batch Characterstics Upload through an utility

Hi All ,

I have an requirement to upload batch characteristic's values through an utility . Can any one please suggest how to go about it . I can't use BDC for this . Datas like Plant , Material , Batch , Characterstic's values will be passed in excel sheet and to be uploaded via utility to update the batch master .

Please suggest .
