Re: HCI - Handle Flat files Development vs Production

Hi Pierre,

Maybe I can add some more details on how to achieve this

1. Create the 2 global variables ($G_FILE_LOCATION, $G_FILE_LANDSCAPE) and the preload script as per example from the note provided by Cosmin

2. In the dataflow go in the first query linked to the source file -> select file name -> file options

3. Ensure that "Change Root Directory" is marked and type $G_FILE_LOCATION

For example if you have a 2 tier HCI landscape and use Sanbox for both developing and testing activities, you can change the $G_FILE_LANDSCAPE values to "DEV" / "TEST" and provide values for the $G_FILE_LOCATION accordingly.

Customers can also use SFTP folders. At datastore level you need to specify 2 addresses:

  • Root Directory which should be a directory that can be accessed by the agent. Agent will use it to bring the files from SFTP folders as an intermediate step before processing.
  • SFTP host IP

Once you enabled this SFTP in the dataflow query you will see "Remote File Path" under "Change Root Directory". Here you can point to different folders that are available on the remote server and use a global variable $G_FILE_PATH.

Let me know in case you would need more explanations / i could send some printscreens via email

Cheers

Alecsandra
