I am not sure why a report would stop working - something did change... Perhaps the report was "working" but using "Saved data" and that flag was removed and now it is actually trying to connect to the database(?).
Couple of other thoughts:
Does the report still work in the CR designer - if you refresh and not run a saved data report.
Make sure you are using the latest service pack:
